Mary Morris is also an experienced teacher and has taught workshops and classes for both fiction and non-fiction writers in college writing programs, including Princeton, The University of California at Irvine and New York University, as well as Sarah Lawrence College where she is tenured.

Morris offers a special workshop entitled "The Source of Stories: Writing From Your Own Experience" in which she helps writers mine their own personal narratives and translate them into stories. This class normally takes a day or two days.

She has been featured in New York Magazine as "The Mother Superior" of emerging writers and has taught these workshops privately, at Book Passage University in Corte Madera, California, and at many summer writers conferences, including the Prague Summer Program, the Squaw Valley Community of Writers and the Sarah Lawrence College Summer Writing Program.

Some of Morris' former students include well-known writers such as Jonathan Ames, Jodi Picoult and Elissa Schapelle.

Revenge

"I loved it. The writing is superb, and the tension Morris creates between Andrea and Loretta keeps the reader anxious - a beautiful example of the thread of literary suspense."

- Anita Shreve

The River Queen

"The River Queen is my new favorite book. I wish I'd been the one to write something so flawless, so honest and so resonant."

- Jodi Picoult
